Montagu Square

Nestled within one of London’s most picturesque communal garden squares, this Grade II Listed property has been transformed into an exquisite example of timeless elegance and modern comfort. Tasked with obtaining planning permission, Listed Building consent, and a License to Alter, Project London meticulously ensured that every enhancement respected the building’s storied history while meeting contemporary living standards.

The renovation focused on preserving and restoring the home’s stunning period details, including intricate cornicing and original fireplaces, while integrating modern comforts such as air conditioning in all bedrooms.

The rooftop terrace underwent a complete transformation, featuring a refined planting scheme that enhances both aesthetics and privacy. Internally, we curated a selection of premium finishes and FF&E, ensuring a seamless blend of classic and contemporary design elements. Custom-crafted joinery adds both elegance and functionality, while the rear elevation has been revitalised with replacement windows and doors, improving energy efficiency and visual appeal.

The result is a home that seamlessly marries historical grandeur with contemporary convenience, offering a sophisticated yet comfortable living environment that honours the property’s architectural heritage.

The most enjoyable part was working with traditional furniture pieces whilst introducing bold, playful colours, paired with curated artwork and bespoke rugs.

Rich fabrics - from crimson reds to emerald greens - add depth and personality, balancing historic elegance with the client’s love of vibrant, artisanal details. The result is a home that feels refined, lively, and entirely individual.
