For us, wall art is never an afterthought. It plays a central role in shaping atmosphere, scale and personality within a home. The Sphere feature explores how considered choices, from scale to materiality, can elevate interiors and create a more cohesive environment.

As our Head of Design, Marcelina Janiszewska, shared in the feature, one of the most common mistakes is defaulting to mass market prints. Instead, we encourage clients to “think beyond the obvious” and avoid pieces that feel overly familiar or widely used across social media. Mixing mediums such as textiles, ceramics, sculpture and original artwork introduces depth and individuality that a uniform collection cannot achieve.

Scale also plays an important role. Larger pieces can help anchor a space and bring clarity to a room’s design. Similarly, gallery walls require intention. Randomly placing smaller artworks can make both the wall and the pieces feel insignificant, whereas thoughtful spacing and composition creates balance and visual impact.

Lighting is another element often overlooked. Proper directional lighting not only enhances colour and texture but also protects artwork over time. At Project London, we approach art placement holistically, considering natural light, architectural features and how the room is experienced throughout the day.

This philosophy also extends to collaboration with partners such as Cor Domi, where bespoke joinery and integrated detailing allow artwork to feel considered within the wider design rather than applied afterwards. Every element works together to create a cohesive, calm and refined space.

Being featured in Sphere Magazine reflects our belief that thoughtful details shape the overall experience of a home. When art is approached with intention, it becomes an integral part of the architecture rather than simply decoration.
