For @foxandvamp , the brief wasn’t simply to design a salon. It was to create a space that felt more like a quiet luxury members’ club. Somewhere clients would want to spend time, rather than somewhere they would pass through.

That single idea informed every decision that followed.

Before selecting a single piece of furniture, we mapped how people would move through the space. Where they would pause. Where conversations would happen. What they would see when they first walked through the door.

From there, the design language emerged. Soft curves instead of hard corners. Limewashed walls instead of stark white surfaces. Sculptural furniture, layered textures and warm lighting that created atmosphere rather than simply illumination.

Even the product displays were designed as part of the architecture rather than retail shelving. The goal was always the same: to make the space feel welcoming, elevated and effortless.

Looking back at the moodboards, layouts and early concepts is always a reminder that great interiors rarely happen by accident. ...

It’s often the smallest details that determine whether a room feels considered or simply finished.

Take hardware, for example.

Most people notice the wardrobe, the wallpaper or the furniture first. But what often creates that subtle sense of quality is the layer beneath it. The handles you touch every day. The metal finishes repeated throughout the room. The way materials speak to one another rather than compete for attention.

In this bedroom, the hardware wasn’t chosen in isolation. It was selected to complement the warmth of the timber, echo the bedside lighting, and add a layer of depth against the softer neutral palette. ...

What stood out to us at WOW!house this year was how many rooms were willing to be a little bolder with texture and scale. Larger lamps. Bigger artwork. More layered materials. Less worrying about whether everything matched perfectly.

It’s a good reminder that often the difference between a home that feels nice and one that feels memorable isn’t spending more money.

It’s having the confidence to commit to an idea.
