Our Cinema Room Design Featured in Livingetc

We’re delighted to share that one of our cinema spaces has been featured in Livingetc, as part of their edit of cinema rooms that elevate the home viewing experience. The feature highlights a space where materiality, lighting and atmosphere were carefully balanced to create something immersive, but still aligned with the wider home.

For us, a cinema room is never just about technology. It’s about how the space feels. How it transitions from day to evening. How it becomes somewhere to slow down, gather and disconnect.

In this project, we approached the cinema room as a fully integrated part of the home rather than a standalone feature. As our Senior Interior Designer, Marcelina, shared in the Livingetc piece:

“We wrapped the walls and ceiling in midnight blue limewash, which gives a soft, velvety finish that naturally absorbs light and instantly sets a cocooning, atmospheric mood.”

This darker palette allowed the room to feel immersive without relying solely on blackout solutions. Instead, the materials themselves helped shape the experience.

Curtains also played a key role, not just functionally but visually. As Marcelina explained:

The plush velvet curtains do the heavy lifting in terms of blackout… The velvet also absorbs sound, which makes a real difference to the acoustic quality of the room.

By recessing the curtain track and layering tactile materials, the space remains calm and seamless when not in use, while transforming into a cinematic environment when required.

Cinema rooms are becoming an increasingly important part of how clients use their homes. They are spaces for entertaining, relaxing and spending time together.

For this project, the focus was on creating something cocooning and atmospheric, while still maintaining the wider design language of the home. Midnight tones, soft textures and considered lighting all worked together to shape a space that feels calm, refined and immersive.

It reflects our broader approach at Project London. Every room should feel purposeful, beautifully considered and seamlessly integrated into the overall design.

We’re proud to see this project featured by Livingetc and grateful to our clients and collaborators, including Cor Domi, who helped bring the space to life.
